The 4th Oncology Clinic was founded in September 2018 at Metropolitan Hospital, inspired and founded by Dr Helena Linardou. Today it is a living centre of comprehensive oncology care, with physicians trained in the United Kingdom and the United States and its own clinical trials centre.
The Clinic’s history
Dr Linardou’s vision was joined by the medical oncologist Kostis Sakellariou. The team was gradually completed by specialised physicians with substantial clinical experience and training abroad, and by excellent nursing and administrative staff.

Kanella-Maria Gkiati becomes Administrative Director of the Clinic and the Clinical Trials Centre.
- A complete multidisciplinary team
Four physicians, oncology nurses, a clinical psychologist, a dietitian, a clinical trials team and administrative staff.
The team today
All the Clinic’s physicians studied and trained abroad (United Kingdom and United States) and produce clinical and research work of international scope.

Cooperation with the Hospital
The team works closely with every department of Metropolitan Hospital, so that patients have access to all the oncology specialties and to every department involved in cancer care.

Research
The Clinic is an integral member of major research groups in Greece and abroad, such as the Hellenic Cooperative Oncology Group (HeCOG).
