Nina Dolli is the clinical psychologist of the 4th Oncology Clinic and the Clinical Trials Centre, with experience in the psychotherapeutic care of patients in healthcare settings. She follows patients from the early phase of diagnosis to the end of treatment and supports their families.
How she works with patients
- From diagnosis to the end of treatment a continuous presence beside the patient
- A channel of communication between the physicians, the patient and the family
- Systemic approach coping with the diagnosis and with the psychological difficulties that may arise
- Family therapy support and guidance for relatives who take on the role of carer
Education and career
- Degree in Psychology
State University of New York. In the same year she worked for a year at the Agia Sofia Children's Hospital, giving psychological support to the families of children with cancer through a systemic approach.
- Filoktitis rehabilitation centre
Psychotherapeutic support of patients and relatives in adjusting to their new circumstances.
- MSc Clinical Health Psychology
University of Central Lancashire, with distinction. Since the same year she has kept a private practice in central Athens.
- Cognitive behavioural psychotherapy
Two-year training programme, Centre for Applied Psychotherapy and Counselling, Athens.
- Systemic psychotherapy
Five-year training programme at the Athenian Institute of Anthropos (AKMA), in progress.
For the last five years she has worked at the 4th Oncology Clinic of Metropolitan Hospital. Psychological support is part of the Clinic’s supportive services and is offered to every patient and family who needs it.
